The Grand Massif Express telecabine offers super fast access directly into the ski area, linking Samoens village to the Samoens 1600 plateau and the rest of the Grand Massif ski area.

The Grand Massif offers a huge variety, from beautiful tree lined green pistes, to wide, fast blue/red pistes, steep challenging black runs, to some exceptional off piste options. There is truly something for every ability and interest, making the area particularly popular with families and groups with mixed abilities.

How about taking a lift up early, before anyone else, enjoying the sunrise on Mont Blanc before skiing back down on pristine, untouched pistes?

Samoëns is the only ski resort in France to be listed as a 'Monument Historique'. The beautiful, medieval centre of Samoëns without a doubt sets it apart from the vast majority of ski villages around the world. As the iconic Criou mountain towers overhead in spectacular fashion, there can be no doubting your location in the world.

If you want to explore our wonderful natural environment but you can't ski, don't want to ski, or just fancy a change, then we'd highly recommend snowshoeing. There are several marked trails around Samoëns and Morillon, up on the Col de Joux Plane, or at the Cirque du Fer-a-Cheval in Sixt.

Winter is not just about skiing! There is so much to do in Samoëns and the Haut-Giffre valley away from the slopes, the area truly offers something for everyone.

A short walk from the centre of Samoens village, you'll find an impressive 56 x 26m covered ice rink with seating for 450 people. Fantastic family fun and is open all day and evenings for ice skating, with lessons and equipment hire available.

There are 2 luge/sledging runs at Samoens 1600. On the plateau at the top of the Grand Massif Express, there are two new luge runs for children of all ages. From 16m long for the young ones through to 60m for the older children (and Dads!)

THE LOCATION and THE VENUE

Family Oasis Chalet Christophe is a historic farmhouse located in the unspoilt hamlet of Vallon d'en Bas area of Samoëns, a quiet hamlet that boasts some of the valley’s finest traditional Savoyard architecture. Nature lies at your doorstep in this calm, unspoilt location. Initially built in the early 18th century, it is just a 10-minute stroll from the centre of town.

A triumphant mix of authentic alpine and contemporary luxury, enjoy delights such as hand-crafted woodwork, exposed beams, limestone flooring, exquisite artwork, impressive ensuite bedrooms and an incredibly comfortable lounge with a library and a roaring log fire.

Without a doubt, one of the highlights is the traditional hot tub which affords fantastic views over the entire garden towards the farmhouse. Located directly next to it, an extra large Swedish sauna is hidden away inside a renovated mazot, the perfect place to soothe tired muscles after a day on the mountains.

Ski passes for adults and children, kids age 7 and under ski for free
Eating outside or extra activities in Samoëns
Travel insurance, we urge our guests to take this out to cover all eventualities

WHAT'S THE CLOSEST AIRPORT?

Geneva (GVA) international airport is roughly a 1 hour car journey from our retreat venue.

SNOW CONDITIONS IN SAMOËNS IN FEBRUARY

The Grand Massif offers an exceptional snow record thanks to its geographical position close to Mont Blanc, predominantly north facing slopes, and continued investment in a vast network of snow canons.

Experience some of the most spectacular views of Mont Blanc of anywhere in the Alps!

Samoëns and more generally the Grand Massif has always benefited from a superb snow record thanks to the microclimate resulting from the proximity of Mont Blanc. Snow cover on at least parts of the ski area is pretty much guaranteed from mid-december until late April. Samoëns also benefits from North-facing slopes which greatly helps to retain snow longer

HOW MUCH IS THE RETREAT and WHAT'S THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

The starting price of 3555 Euros includes Oasis retreat package

for an Adult and one Child

or Two Adults

Your family will be staying in one of our charming en-suite bedrooms

Extras:

EUR 300 for a 1:1 childcare if your child is under the age of 3 years old

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

You can pay in full when booking (we accept all the major credit cards) or alternatively, you can choose an option to pay in 6 monthly instalments by credit card, with the first payment due today.

The last option is to pay by the bank transfer. Please note that a deposit of 30% will be payable upon booking in case you choose a manual payment option and we will issue you an invoice (it is possible to pay in EUR, GBP or USD - please drop us a note).

The balance 70% will need to be paid 8 weeks before a retreat start day, which is no later than December 11th 2023.
